Surrounded by the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, and wide expanses of sage and cedar, Takoja is positioned perfectly in nature: join us for a unique hiking and cultural experience, providing great opportunities to see and learn more about Northern New Mexico! Explore countless hiking trails and mountains, including Wheeler Peak, the highest mountain in New Mexico at 13,000 feet. Experience wildlife from bighorn sheep, black bears, marmots, hundreds of bird species, and the occasional porcupine or mountain lion. Journey out on your own, or join for group activities and guided tours of the surrounding area, including natural hot springs, and Taos with its pueblo and diverse cuisine and artist scene.
